 I think the main issue of world politics now is the economic slowdown following the COVID-19. Not only Korea but also the whole world is facing an economic crisis due to the fandom caused by the COVID-19.

  I would like to compare the cultural differences between East Asia and the West based on Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory. So, I chose Korea and Japan as East Asian countries and the united kingdom and the United States as Western countries. Of course these countries do not represent the whole, but we can make a rough comparison through looking at each Hofstede's cultural dimensions by country. First, let's look at the power distance dimension. The greater the value, the greater the degree of compliance with power. East Asian countries score higher than Western countries. Since the outbreak of the Covid- 19 virus, government intervention in quarantine and public support has increased, making the role of the government very important.  However, depending on the public's perception of the government, I was thought that accepting the government's action would be different.  So, through the WVS, I decided to analyze how each country perceives each country's government. First survey question is confidence about their government. Most of country answered "Quite a lot" as 35.9%.  What should be noted is that China accounted for the largest percentage in a great deal overwhelmingly.   People in China were very confident about their government.  But I thought there must be another reason for this result.
