[Blog Assignment 1] WVS analysis : the importance of work and leisure

Currently, Korea works five days a week. However, only a decade ago, Korea worked on a six-day workweek. The balance between work and leisure time is becoming more important in Korea as time goes by. Therefore, through WVS, people around the world looked at how important work and leisure are in life.

The graph above is the response of each country to how important leisure is in life. Each country of North America, South America, Europe, East Asia, Central Asia, and Oceania was selected and compared.
In Indonesia, as many as 50 percent said leisure is very important in life. On the other hand, only about 24 percent of South Korea said leisure is very important. They answered that leisure is very important in order of Australia, Brazil, the United States, and France.
What's interesting is that Indonesia is the country that responded the most to the question that leisure is not very important. There were few people who said leisure was not important at all in all countries, and everyone except Indonesia said leisure time was of some importance.

The following is the response of each country to how important work is in life.
Interestingly, Indonesia had the highest response rate to the question that it considers work very important in life. In Indonesia, 92.9 percent said work was very important.
In France and Brazil, about 60 percent of the respondents answered the question, indicating that work is very important.
On the other hand, 8.2 percent of the respondents answered that work is not at all important in the U.S.
The figure compares with 0.7% who answered that leisure is not at all important in the above survey.

While most countries answered that "leisure is rather important" above, 58.6 percent answered "very important" in the survey of work. This, though not accurate, shows that most countries place a little more importance on work than leisure.
And in the case of Indonesia, the result that both work and leisure are very important can also be derived.
