Do Koreans like or dislike the unexpected? On a scale of 1 (weak uncertainty avoidance) to 100 (strong u.a.), what would be your guess? / Taeyi Lim
I think it’s 80, because Koreans think
there is so much anxiety about unexpected things. They seem very stressed about his overall life, and very
anxious about getting away from what he is used to. In
the case of food, when you think about food, you like the taste you know and what you
used to eat. Even if you have complaints about where you work, if moving your
job brings an uncertain future, you will also feel anxious, so you will not
change your job. The same is true of deviations. I
think it's dangerous and shouldn't be done if it's out of the box that many
people follow, so I think it's controlled a lot. Although there is a lot of
respect for differences now, it seems that previously, they tended to think
that being different was within the scope of their deviation.
