Is globalization good or bad? What do you think?/PARK HYE MIN(박혜민)
I think it's hard to choose either 'globalization is good or bad' This is because any phenomenon is found both positive and negative. It is important to create more positive aspects of globalization, and on the contrary, I think it is important for the future of the global village where we will live together to reduce the negative aspects.
If you think about the positive side of globalization along with the development of technology, I think the most positive side is not just looking at the well of the country where I live, but meeting new cultures and people who are different from me, and meeting these experiences, so that I can have a broader perspective rather than a conventional one. Now is the time when the whole world is made into a society without borders, and living together in this world requires a broad perspective and a spirit of tolerance and acceptance to recognize and accept others, and it is more important than ever.
On the contrary, it is true that there are many critical views of globalization. This is because the negative side looks more dramatic than the positive side. I think the most criticized part is inequality. It can be said that globalization affects economies around the world, not depending on the circumstances and conditions of each country, but also affected by a variety of external countries, especially developed countries with economic and cultural and political power. This creates a hierarchy between each country and a system that inevitably experiences inequality from the perspective of an invisible country. And there is a problem with outsourcing, which seems to be inseparable from globalization. The reason is that because of globalization, humans can move freely around various countries. Now, we have no choice but to cooperate with the outside world in that the concept of nationality and people will be changed to various countries, not just one country. Therefore, I think we can prepare for this only when there is a standard of fairness that does not benefit only one side in the process of cooperation.
