R1) What is globalization? / Yerim Han

1) Summary
The definition of globalization varies from scholar to scholar because it is defined through social context.

The most representative concept to describe globalization is 'increasing connectivity'. Connectivity was considered an important feature of globalization by political scientists, international relations experts and economists, but anthropologists, sociologists and cultural historians studied consciousness more. You should focus on connectivity rather than consciousness.

One of the particular forms of globalization was completed by the founding of the UN organization. The globalization of the United Nations means global politics among nations.

Globalization is being carried out mainly on political, economic and cultural levels. Recently, the economic and cultural aspects are combined and the most representative example is McDonaldization. This is part of the social phenomenon, which says that people's habitual behavior leads to economic globalization. The phenomenon of cultural and economic aspects of globalization, as well as the complexity of thinking, also shows the poverty of thinking.

Globalization should achieve a more sophisticated framework through effective and valid critical analysis.

2) Interesting point
When I thought of globalization, I only thought of globalization for the cultural part. The United Nations knew it, but was surprised that it was the mainstay of political globalization, and thought it should approach globalization in a more specific and systematic way.

3) discussion
Are you positive about globalization? Tell me the reason and whether you agree or disagree with your position.
