Disputes of globalization
From the development of globalization today, as well as the competition between the impetus and the counterforce, everyone understands the complexity of globalization. Globalization is certainly a general trend, but different groups, organizations, and countries have invested in globalization at different paces, and the benefits and losses they face are also different. The following are the contradictions and conflicts seen in globalization.
North-South conflict
The so-called "Northern countries" (that is, the northern hemisphere) dominated by developed countries are in contradiction with the so-called "Southern countries" (that is, the southern hemisphere) dominated by backward countries. Due to differences in the degree of development, developed countries are generally better able to obtain more economic benefits in globalization, while the economies of backward countries tend to stagnate.
Increasing globalization and the growing gap between the rich and the poor between the North and the South are happening at the same time. The countries of the "South" naturally have doubts about globalization. The North-South differences have naturally become a major dispute in globalization.
Class conflict
The interests of capitalists and workers are clearly different, which has become a major dispute in globalization. In globalization, capitalists can not only move processes to lower-cost areas, but also sell products and services to all parts of the world. There are also global fund-raising and investment opportunities, which are naturally a big beneficiary of globalization.
On the contrary, workers are clearly at a disadvantage in globalization. Workers in developed countries face a significant reduction in their bargaining power in the face of companies relocating their processes; workers in developing countries, let alone have any bargaining power. The conflict of interest between capitalists and workers will only intensify in globalization, and it will be difficult to dissolve.
cultural conflict
Western countries dominate cultural globalization, which impacts local cultures in various places, which is another important conflict in globalization.
On the one hand, Western countries have huge multinational corporations, on the other hand they have an overwhelming advantage in the media, allowing Western culture to spread to various places (especially American culture) in different forms, which greatly impacts local traditional values around the world. The anti-Western movement triggered by "fundamentalism" in Muslim culture has evolved into armed conflict, which is even more acute than "North-South conflict" and "class conflict".
